Chicago Toyota Dealers Anticipate the 2018 C-HR’s Arrival
After making its debut as a production model at the LA Auto Show, and then appearing at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and the Chicago Auto Show, Toyota’s 2018 C-HR will head over to Toyota dealers. Toyota’s first foray into subcompact SUV territory, the 2018 C-HR (the moniker stands for “Coupe High-Rider) is scheduled to be available for sale at Toyota Dealerships later this year. We think you’ll be excited when you see this latest addition to the Toyota lineup.
From Concept to Toyota Dealers Showroom
The C-HR was first shown as a concept car at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. When creating the production version, Toyota retained the concept vehicle’s avant-garde exterior, comfortable and modern cabin and daring character. The C-HR is offered in two trim levels, XLE and XLE Premium. Standard features on each trim include 18-inch alloy wheels, bucket seats, dual-zone climate control, and a 7-inch audio display.
Chicagoland Demands Unique Styling
Toyota’s team of global designers styled the C-HR around a “Distinctive Diamond” theme, which, according to the automaker, evokes impressions of “luxury, attractiveness, sophistication, and strength.” (If fact, if you look closely at the silhouette, you’ll notice it looks like a diamond on its side.) No matter how you look at it, the result is a vehicle that appears sexy, powerful and edgy. This is a crossover designed for urban living that can easily navigate the streets of the city while standing out to make a vibrant statement. The rear exterior door handles of this four-door vehicle are hidden into the body frame to give the C-HR the look of a two-door.
Outstanding Interior Design
The modern and roomy interior features diamond accents and surfaces covered with soft-touch materials. The diamond design influences the style of the dual-zone climate controls, speaker surrounds, and the black headliner above the front passengers. An acoustic noise-reducing front windshield keeps noise levels at a minimum.
Exceptional Interior Comfort
Bolstered bucket seats ensure passenger comfort. There’s plenty of space for storing small items, along with a generous number of cup and bottle holders (two cup holders in the front, along with two front and two rear bottle holders). The backseats are roomy, too, thanks to foot well cubbies under the front seats and scalloped seatbacks. Sound insulating materials are placed throughout the cabin to keep things even quieter.
Power and Safety All in One
The 2018 Toyota C-HR is powered by a 2-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 144 horsepower and 139 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with intelligence and Shift mode. Toyota’s Safety Sense P system features advanced safety technology, including an in-vehicle camera, a millimeter-wave radar system mounted on the front grille, a pre-collision system that can detect pedestrians, automatic high beams, lane departure alert with steering assist, and radar cruise control.
