Discover Inside Chicago River Architecture

Set aside an hour on Saturday, June 13 for a virtual tour called Inside Chicago River Architecture. This free tour, which runs from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., features highlights of Chicago’s best riverfront architecture. We at McGrath Elmhurst Toyota believe this will be a great time, as well as an excellent opportunity to learn about the Chicago River area.

Hillary Marzec, owner and tour guide at Inside Chicago Walking Tours, is your virtual tour guide for Inside Chicago River Architecture. You’ll explore the Chicago River and the nearby structures using Zoom meetings and screen sharing. Additionally, you’ll be able to virtually enter some of the buildings using Google Street View and Hillary’s vast collection of photographs and drawings.

Hillary has collected many wonderful stories, photographs and videos of some of downtown Chicago’s most renowned architecture. Her company provides visitors with what she calls “the second side of the Second City.” Chicago Walking Tours has been ranked as the top walking tour company in the Chicago area on TripAdvisor for many years.

Hillary brings her passion for teaching to her work. “[My work] even allows me to practice my foreign language skills and to meet people from all around the world,” she explained. “I am proud and humbled to represent not only Chicago, but what an American is like to these people. I am part of the impression these people get of this country, as grandiose as that might sound, and I’m very aware of that responsibility. For many visitors, I become the relatable face of Chicago — and I take pride in that job.”

Inside Chicago River Architecture is a 50-minute journey, followed by a 10-minute question and answer session. Hillary will run the virtual tour from her home, expect to see a few cats jumping into her lap!
