Antedated Foresights 2024Schirmer’s retrospective showcases his extensive exploration of various media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography. His recent experiments with formal and non-representational aesthetics using mixed media add a contemporary twist to his already diverse portfolio.

“For approximately fifteen years I have been influenced by the urban landscape, of which I have been a part, in the city of Chicago,” said Schirmer. “For me the urban environment, as metaphor, shifts between landscapes; cultural and personal, technological and socioeconomic, spiritual and mundane.”
