Enjoy the Beethoven Cello Sonatas Part II

Classical music lovers won’t want to miss the Beethoven Cello Sonatas Part II. The conclusion of the Summer Music at Bethel season takes place at Bethel United Church of Christ on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 5 p.m. This final installment of Beethoven’s complete sonatas for cello features pianist Jeffrey Panko and cellist Timothy Archbold. Here at McGrath Elmhurst Toyota, we’re continually impressed with the offerings at the Summer Music at Bethel Series. We hope you get a chance to make it out to enjoy this concert.

The Beethoven Cello Sonatas Part IIBeethoven Cello Sonatas Part II will feature Sonata No. 2 in G minor, Op. 5, No. 2; Sonata No. 3 in A major, Op. 69; and Sonata No. 4 in C major, Op. 102, No. 1. These three sonatas provide examples of Beethoven’s early, middle, and late periods. The audience will have a chance to compare the composer’s different compositional styles used during each period.

Jeffrey Panko is a concert pianist and a faculty member of the New Music School. He has been teaching students privately in the Chicago area for more than 20 years. Panko’s versatile style extends to a repertoire from Beethoven to contemporary works. He has received a host of honors and awards.

Cellist Timothy Archbold is a native of Victoria, Australia. He has appeared as a soloist with many groups throughout Victoria and has won several awards. Archbold is the assistant principal of the Northwest Indian and Peoria Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. He is on the teaching faculty at Bradley University, Peoria.

The Beethoven Cello Sonatas Part II is a one-hour concert without intermission. A wine reception will follow the concert.
