Enjoy the Music of the Julian Chin Trio

Bethel United Church of Christ’s popular Music at Bethel concert series returns with a virtual jazz performance by the Julian Chin Trio on Saturday, May 1 at 7 p.m. This spring concert event will be live-streamed from the PianoForte Chicago showroom and features a broad spectrum of American jazz classics. At McGrath Elmhurst Toyota, we admire the talent of local musicians, and we’re looking forward to this exciting online performance.

The Julian Chin Trio was founded in 2017 and features Julian Chin on piano, Ben Dill on double bass, and Andrew Green on drums. The acoustic group, which performs both jazz classics and original arrangements, is the brainchild of Julian Chin, a renowned musician and educator from the Chicago area.

Chin, a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, is an eclectic pianist and keyboardist who is equally skilled at playing jazz, vintage rock, modern pop, and piano classics. A frequent headliner at the Music at Bethel concert series, he also plays gigs at local venues such as the Green Mill, Andy’s Jazz Club, the Bottom Lounge, the Beat Kitchen, Schubas Tavern and Martyrs’. In addition to leading the Julian Chin Trio, he plays with local cover band Blue Water Kings. He serves as the music director for the Temple Jeremiah in Northfield, Illinois.

The Music at Bethel concert series has been a tradition in Elmhurst for 22 years. However, to preserve the health and safety of its artists and patrons during this difficult time, the program has suspended in-person events until the fall of 2021 and will instead offer live-streamed concerts and pre-recorded performances on YouTube.
