Kids Can Find the Pot of Gold at the Clover Hunt

Kids can find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow at the Clover Hunt at Fischer Farm in Bensenville on Saturday, March 12. This event is for kids ages two to seven, with two different start times, depending on the child’s age. Children between the ages of two and four can attend at 10:30 a.m. The fun begins for kids five to seven at 11:45 a.m. At McGrath Elmhurst Toyota, we believe this event will be lots of fun for the entire family. We encourage everyone with kids to head up to Fischer Farm in Bensenville to attend the Clover Hunt.

At the Clover Hunt, children will use clues and solve puzzles to find the magic clovers hidden on Fischer Farm by a sneaky leprechaun. They can search for the leprechaun’s pot of gold and enjoy the crafts and other activities at the farm.

The three-leaf clover, or shamrock, has been Ireland’s unofficial national flower for centuries. It’s considered to be the country’s national emblem. According to legend, Saint Patrick used the shamrock as a symbol to explain the Holy Trinity as he converted the Irish population to Christianity in the fourth century. The shamrock became associated with St. Patrick’s Day in the 17th century when people started wearing the plant in their hats to attend church on the saint’s feast day.

When Irish immigrants came to America in the 18th century, no shamrocks were found in the cities where they settled. They substituted the color green and images of the shamrock when they celebrated their heritage at parades and parties.
