At Elmhurst BMW, we’re grateful the Elmhurst History Museum produces summer events like Museum Maker Monday, which give kids an opportunity to continue to learn while having fun.
At Museum Maker Monday: The Music of Woodstock, children can explore the music of Woodstock on the 50th anniversary of the start of the iconic festival, which was held between August 15-18, 1969. More than 400,000 young people from all over the country flocked to Max Yasgur’s farm in the town of Bethel, New York to experience what was billed as “3 Days of Peace and Music.” The event was captured in a documentary that won an Academy Award, as well as an accompanying soundtrack album.
Museum Maker Monday: The Music of Woodstock will give kids a taste of some of the music performed at the festival, which included bands such as Joan Baez, The Band, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Arlo Guthrie, Grateful Dead, Richie Havens, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, The Who and more.
Children can also create their own instruments at the event. Crafts are available while supplies last. Mark August 12 on your calendar and head out to the Elmhurst History Museum for Museum Maker Monday: The Music of Woodstock. Your kids will have a great time.
