Relive the Lost Restaurants of Chicago

If you love food or dining out, you’re sure to enjoy Lost Restaurants of Chicago. This virtual event is presented by the Elmhurst Public Library on Monday, Oct. 12, from 7-8:30 p.m. Author Greg Borzo will be on hand to serve tasty stories of Chicago’s most well-loved restaurants of the past, including delis, diners, steakhouses and tiki bars. Of course, no discussion of Chicago restaurants would be complete without a mention of Trader Vic’s and the Blackhawk. At McGrath Elmhurst Toyota, we’re sure this will be a fun and very entertaining virtual event. Admission to Lost Restaurants of Chicago is free, so we hope you have a chance to take part.

Chicago has long been one of the most prominent and celebrated culinary centers in the world. While many of the city’s renowned restaurants are no longer open for business, their memories live on. These eateries fed the masses, attracted celebrities and created national trends. Lost Restaurants of Chicago will shed light on the memorable restaurants of the past that provided outstanding service and served as the setting for many of Chicago’s special occasions.

Greg Borzo is the author of Lost Restaurants of Chicago, as well as several other books on Chicago sights and history, including Chicago Cable Cars, Chicago’s Fabulous Fountains, RAGBRAI: America’s Favorite Bicycle Ride, The Chicago “L” and Where to Bike Chicago. He conducts tours for the Chicago History Museum and other organizations.
