Spend an Evening with Jenny Lawson
Join the Elmhurst Public Library and Illinois Library and spend an evening with Jenny Lawson on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. Lawson will discuss her most recent book, “Broken (in the best possible way),” and talk about her humorous works. Bestselling author R. Eric Thomas will join be on hand to join the conversation. Here at McGrath Elmhurst Toyota, we never tire of recommending the library’s many outstanding presentations.
Lawson is a Texas-based author, journalist and blogger who has been open about her struggle with mental illness. Her books include the no. 1 New York Times bestsellers “Furiously Happy” and “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened,” an autobiography named Best Humor Book in the 2012 Goodreads Choice Awards. She is the author of The Bloggess website and co-author of the Good Mom/Bad Mom website column for the Houston Chronicle. Lawson’s blog was listed by Forbes magazine as one of its Top 100 Websites for Women. Nielson named her one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Mom Bloggers. The Huffington Post called Lawson the “Greatest Person of the Day” for helping to raise money for struggling families.
R. Eric Thomas is a bestselling author, screenwriter and playwright. His works include “Here for It, or How to Save Your Soul in America,” which was named a Read with Jenna book club pick featured on Today. He’s the co-author of “Reclaiming Her Time,” a biography of Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Thomas is also the long-running host of The Moth in Philadelphia and D.C.
