For the uninitiated, Schitt’s Creek is a Canadian TV sitcom created by father and son Eugene and Dan Levy. The idea for the series came from Dan Levy, who wondered how wealthy families would cope if they lost all their money. The show aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for six seasons. It follows the Rose family, who lose their fortune when their business manager embezzles their family business. They relocate to Schitt’s Creek, a small town they once bought as a joke. Living in a motel, they now find they must adjust to small-town living without money. The show stars Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Dan Levy and Annie Murphy.

Here’s an interesting trivia tidbit. Tim Gunn of “Making the Cut” called Schitt’s Creek his favorite show. At first, he thought it was horrible, but he later became a big fan. “I can’t get enough of it,” he said. “In fact, I try to squeeze in one 22-minute episode a day just because it takes me to a happy place.”
