The New 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross Inspires Art
The new 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross brings a sense of freedom and exploration to drivers, so it’s no surprise it has inspired artists. This versatile compact crossover combines the qualities that have made the Corolla so successful over the years with the versatility and durability of an SUV. Here at McGrath Elmhurst Toyota, we love the 2022 Corolla Cross, and we understand how it can serve as the inspiration for great art. We celebrate the work created for Toyota by this creative couple.
Brooklyn-based artists Wade Jeffree and Leta Sobierajski created a series of art installations called Paint Your Own Path in collaboration with Toyota. The art was part of the Corollas Cross’ Just Right campaign. The work consisted of colorful sculptures that used several patterns.
Wade and Leta, as they are known, have a shared taste for playful design. The creative duo has worked on a range of products, from art installations to perfume ads. They call their bold, colorful designs “music for your eyes. Their sculptures of the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross combine art, photography, styling, and traditional design elements to create designs that are entirely their own.
Sobierajski says the sculptures are precarious due to the way the cubes and spheres are stacked. “The sculptures are designed so that you can walk in and around them,” said Jeffree. “It’s about going off the beaten path and finding something new and exploring that serendipity of travel when you’re in a car that can go anywhere.”
The Corolla Cross art installation began modestly and grew over three months at music festivals sponsored by Toyota, starting with the Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta with just two pieces. The couple added additional sculptures at the Lovers & Friends music festival in Las Vegas and Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee. The latter included a Toyota Corolla Cross wrapped in their design.
