Toyota Shows bZ4X at 2022 Electrify Expo

Toyota’s electrified lineup made a splash at the 2022 Electrify Expo in Long Beach, California, earlier this month. The automaker, a leader in electrified mobility, showed off the all-new battery electric 2023 Toyota bZ4X, the Tundra i-FORCE MAX hybrid, and other Toyota plug-in hybrids and fuel cell electric models. The manufacturer has plans to produce approximately 70 electrified models across the globe by 2025, which will allow it to reach its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. Toyota’s all-new, battery-electric bZ4X is the first of seven electric vehicles to be introduced globally under the “Toyota bZ” brand. (“bZ” stands for “Beyond Zero.”) It comes in two trim levels, with front- and all-wheel drive on offer. EPA-estimated range stands at up to 252 miles per charge.

In addition to the bZ4X, Toyota brought other electrified vehicles to the festival’s Ride and Drive event, including the Tundra i-FORCE MAX hybrid, Mirai, Prius Prime and RAV4 Prime.

The Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX features an all-new hybrid twin-turbo V6 engine that puts out 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft of torque, with an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of up to 22 mpg.

The Toyota Mirai is a hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric vehicle that emits water vapor as exhaust. This mid-size luxury sport sedan has an EPA-estimated range of up to 402 miles.

The Toyota Prius Prime is a plug-in hybrid with an EPA-estimated 54 mpg combined and a driving range of 640 miles. It was the first Toyota hybrid model to use a dual-motor drive system.

The Toyota RAV4 Prime is the fastest, most powerful, and most fuel-efficient RAV4. It gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 42 miles on battery alone on a single charge. The RAV4 Prime generates a total of 302 hp.
