When drivers are involved in a collision, it’s a stressful time. Unfortunately, it’s also a time when drivers need to collect information and make important insurance and repair decisions. Now, Toyota drivers have another level of support available after a collision. The new Collision Assistance service is offered through the Toyota mobile app. It includes instructions on navigating the repair process after a collision. At McGrath Elmhurst Toyota, we hope you’re never involved in a collision. We’re glad that Toyota is developing technologies that can help drivers after a crash. The Collision Assistance service will guide drivers during a very hectic time.

Toyota Collision AssistanceCollision Assistance is part of Toyota’s available Safety Connect suite, which includes automatic collision notification, emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, and a stolen vehicle locator. Once drivers have confirmed they’re safe and uninjured, the app can guide them to collect important accident documentation, help them submit a claim to their insurance company, and assist them in locating a collision repair facility. The feature will walk drivers through the entire process.

“Safety for our customers is paramount. The minutes following an accident can be critical — drivers are often confused and uncertain about what to do,” said Steve Basra, Toyota Motor North America, Connected Technologies group vice president. He went on to say that Toyota’s goal is to provide drivers who have been in an accident with an added level of safety and peace of mind.

Andreas Hecht, CCC’s OEM Services Group SVP, explained that Toyota is taking an all-inclusive approach to post-collision management to support the company’s mission to provide world-class safety to Toyota drivers. The new technology provides users with a way to get the helpful information they need during the stressful period after a collision.

The Collision Assistance Feature is available to drivers through the Toyota Owners App. The app can be downloaded in versions for iPhone or Android smartphone users.
